The Comcast Newsgroups service, powered by Giganews has been discontinued effective 9/16/08.
If you are interested in subscribing directly to a third party newsgroups service, you can chose from one of several newsgroups providers. You will typically need to establish a direct billing relationship with the selected provider.
For those customers who have already subscribed to the Comcast newsgroup service, powered by Giganews, your service will be discontinued on 10/25/2008. To help ensure uninterrupted access to newsgroups, we encourage you to select a new third party provider of newsgroups before this date.
