What is a digital adapter (DTA)?

A digital adapter (Digital Transport Adapter, or DTA) is a 1-way video device that allows an analog TV to display channels that have been transmitted to the home in a digital format.  It is very small, measuring roughly 3"x5" or less in size, and comes in an easy self-install kit.

The digital adapter has coax input/output only, and does not support any advanced video services, such as HD channels, the on-screen channel guide, or On Demand programming.  The DTA also has a new, easy to use, remote control.
