Introduction

Using other equipment with a remote is easier than ever with Comcast universal remotes.

About universal remote

Most Comcast remote controls are multi-device, universal remote controls. This means you can control the cable box, the TV, and a third device in your home with just your Comcast remote. The third device could be a DVD player, home theater, or VCR.

Many of the remote controls sold in retail stores will work with Comcast equipment. However, to ensure that your remote works properly with your Comcast cable box, use the remote control included with your digital video subscription. You can visit your local Comcast office to pick one up, or contact us.

Program your remote

Instructions for programming your remote control are included with the remote. You can also use our online tool, or view and download a remote manual, which includes instructions for programming the remote.

Note:  The digital adapter remote control is not a multi-device remote control and only controls the digital adapter and the TV.
