Support XFINITY TV X1: Applications

Introduction

This article details the apps user experience for XFINITY on the X1 Entertainment Operating System.

Note: Not all applications are available on all X1 set-top-boxes. See X1: Application Availability for details.

Apps Menu Navigation

The X1 Apps menu provides an interactive television experience that allows you to use our enhanced cloud-based guide features with third-party applications that you frequently use in your daily life.

To access the Apps menu, simply use your remote to:

  1. Go to the Main Menu.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Highlight and select the app you wish to use and press OK.

Note: Using the Internet apps (Pandora, Photos, etc.) on your X1 device will count towards your XFINITY Internet data usage.

Examples of Apps and Detail Screens

The following apps and detail screens are all available through X1.

Horoscopes
A horoscope is depicted for today, the option to view tomorrow's horoscope is highlighted below the text.  To the right of Tomorrow's Horoscope is the option to set the chosen astrological sign as a favorite.

Weather
A weather forecast is depicted, with details of today's forecast and a snapshot of the next 4 days to the right. Beneath the future days is the option to choose Extended Forecast.

Traffic
A traffic update is displayed. Beneath the area and zip code is a list of traffic alerts and an alert key to indicate if the incident it an accident, construction, congestion, weather-related, or event-related.  At the bottom-left is the option to choose View Locations. The right-hand side of the screen shows the traffic map with routes and incidents highlighted.

Sports

Sports Extras Beta App

Pandora
The Pandora app is displayed. To the right of the image are the name of the song, artist and album and a progress bar.

Stocks
The Stocks app is selected. The "Your Stocks" option is highlighted in the top-left, with a list of stocks and their price changes beneath it. To the right of Your Stocks is the option to choose "Hot Stocks."

Photos
The photos app is displayed; the option to explore the app is highlighted at bottom left.

Voicemail
You can browse voicemails:
Phone numbers and voicemail messages are listed vertically.

You can listen to voicemails:
Phone numbers and voicemail messages are listed vertically. A progress bar is shown at right of the selected message.

Note: Upon opening the Voicemail app for the first time, you will be directed to http://x1.comcast.net/webportal/home to enable it on your X1 device.

XFINITY My Account app

Accessories Store

Online App Setup

All setup and activation of third-party apps like Pandora must be completed via the Web portal. Each user can control their own social media set up and privacy settings with their Comcast ID. For details, see X1 Apps: Setup Apps on TV.
