Introduction

What happens will depend on where you live and what kind of service you have. In general, anyone with Comcast service using a digital device will not lose access to any of their channels.

For areas where all channels will only be broadcast in digital:

  • If your TV is directly connected to Comcast service without a digital device, you may lose access to all channels. This includes Limited Basic and Expanded Basic channel lineups.

For areas where the Expanded Basic and above channels will only be broadcast in digital:

  • If your TV is directly connected to Comcast service without a digital device, you’ll eventually lose access to the Expanded Basic channel lineup. However, in these areas, televisions without digital devices will still get the Limited Basic channels.

In either area, a TV with a QAM tuner will receive Limited Basic channels without a digital device.

Note: Digital devices include digital cable boxes, Digital Adapters, and CableCARD™ devices (such as a TiVo).
