Occasionally your remote seems to have a mind of its own – find out why.
Here's What's Happening With Your Remote
When the cable box receives new guide data or menu updates, it’s a lot of information for the box to process at one time. This can sometime cause a delay between the time a remote button is pressed and the time the guide responds.
You may also notice that sometimes after you press the channel button three times the guide will rapidly change to a channel you didn’t want. That’s because the cable box was processing updated guide or menu information the first time you pressed a button on the remote. The three commands you sent from the remote got stuck behind the information the box was processing. Once the guide was able to respond to these new commands, it quickly processed them one right after another.
- Try unplugging the power cord of your set-top box from the wall outlet for one full minute. Please note that your On-Screen Guide may take up to an hour to restore full menu information or On Demand functionality.
- Try changing out the remote battery.
