How do I find out what’s on now?
Current Guide on the X1 Platform: Press Guide on your remote control to see a list of channels with what’s airing right now. If you want to see what’s on later, press Guide again for a full screen guide.

New Guide on the X1 Platform : Press Guide on your remote control to see a list of channels with what’s airing right now. If you want to see what’s on later, press Guide again for a full screen guide. Or, to filter the guide for easier browsing, hit the Guide button on your remote twice to select a specific guide view: Favorites, Trending, Movies, Sports and Kids. Choose your preferred view and press OK on your remote.

How do I see all of the episodes that are available for my favorite show?
Current Guide on the X1 Platform: Find a television show in the Guide, Saved or On Demand menus or search for the title you want to watch. Then press the Info button on your remote control and select the Episode Guide option. The Episode Guide lists when the show is on, when it’s XFINITY On Demand, if it’s on your DVR, and even when the next episodes are on.

New
Guide on the X1 Platform: Find a television show in the Guide, Saved, or On Demand sections, or search for the title you want to watch. Then select Episodes to scroll through seasons or go to the Upcoming section to see when the next episodes are on.

How do I set up my favorite channels?
Current Guide on the X1 Platform:

  1. Press the xfinity button on your remote control and select Guide.
  2. Press the left arrow to highlight a channel and then press Info.
  3. Select Favorite to add the channel to your favorites list.
  4. To filter your guide with your favorite channels, just press the A key and select Favorite from the Filter menu and press OK.
New Guide on the X1 Platform:
  1. Press the xfinity button on your remote control and select Guide.
  2. Press the left arrow to highlight a channel and then press OK.
  3. Select Favorite to add the channel to your favorites list.
  4. To filter your guide with your favorite channels, press the Guide button twice to change your guide view, then highlight Favorites and press OK on your remote.
How do I jump ahead to a different day or time in the guide?
Current Guide on the X1 Platform: There isn’t a specific shortcut yet to jump days or hours in the guide, but it’s so easy to find your favorite shows. Just start typing the name of the show you are interested in using the numbers/ letters on your remote. Then you can select it to see when it’s on.

Guide on the X1 Platform: Use the Fast Forward button on your remote to jump ahead in time within the guide, or use the Rewind button to return to the current time. When the Full Grid Guide is visible on-screen, pressing the Fast Forward button will move the highlight 24 hours into the future, and pressing the Rewind button will move the highlight 24 hours back. Note that it is not possible to view the previous day’s listings.

How long can I pause Live TV?
On your X1 DVR, you can pause and rewind for up to 60 minutes of programming. At this time, you cannot pause Live TV on the X1 HD companion boxes (non-DVR boxes).

How can I catch up to the live point of a program after I’ve paused it?
Press the down arrow on the remote control and select Live from the on-screen transport bar. You can also press the Page Up button to skip forward in five-minute increments or press the Fast Forward button until you reach the current point in the program.

How do I set the screen resolution on my X1 Platform from XFINITY set-top box to match my HD Television set?
  1. On your X1 Platform from XFINITY (or XR2) remote control, press the xfinity button to access the main menu.
  2. Use the arrow keys to go to Settings Settings icon and press OK.
  3. Select Device Settings and then Video Display.
  4. Choose the correct resolution from the Output Resolution options and hit OK.
  5. You will see options available based on the capabilities of your TV. 
     
How can I find out what channels and programs are available in HD?
  1. Press Guide on your remote control or select Guide from the main menu.
  2. Press the A key to open the Filter menu.
  3. Use the arrow buttons to sort by HD Channels – the guide will only display the HD programs.
  4. You can also choose to filter by Premium and Favorite channels.  

How do I tune to a channel?
You can tune to a particular channel by entering the channel number on the remote. The channel number will be the first result in the search screen. Select the channel and hit OK on the remote.  You can also type the channel name (i.e. N-B-C). Select the channel(s) from the search results and hit OK on the remote.

 How do I change the sound formatting on my X1 Platform from XFINITY set-top box?
  1. Press the xfinity button on the remote to access the main menu.
  2. Use the arrow keys to go to Settings Settings icon and press OK.
  3. Select Device Settings and then Audio.
  4. Choose the correct mode (Stereo or Surround) from the options and hit OK.
     
How do I set Secondary Audio language on my X1 Platform from XFINITY set-top box?
  1. Press the xfinity button on the remote to access the main menu.
  2. Use the arrow keys to go to Settings Settings icon and press OK.
  3. Select Device Settings and then Audio.
  4. Choose the desired secondary audio soundtrack from the options list and hit OK
Note: Some programs may not have a secondary audio soundtrack available and will play the default audio track (English).

How do I set up Video Description on my X1 Platform from XFINITY set-top box?
  1. Press the xfinity button on the remote to access the main menu.
  2. Use the arrow keys to go to Settings Settings icon and press OK.
  3. Select Device Settings and then Audio.
  4. Choose Spanish from the options list and hit OK.
Note: When available, Video Description is passed through the Spanish secondary audio language. Some programs may not have a Video Description soundtrack available and will play the default audio track.
