Support XFINITY TV X1 AnyRoom DVR: Set the Default DVR


Some markets* will allow for multiple XFINITY on the X1 Entertainment Operating System DVR set-top boxes on a case-by-case basis. If multiple X1 DVR set-top boxes are being used in your X1 AnyRoom DVR setup, you will be able to select which DVR set-top box you would like to schedule your recordings on. While scheduled recordings can be accessed via any X1 set-top box in your home, the recordings are stored on X1 DVR set-top boxes only.

*Multiple DVR set-top boxes currently not available in markets in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, NM, OR, TX, UT, WA.

Set the Default DVR

  1. Open the Settings menu.
    The Settings option is highlighted at the lower right, the last entry in the Main Menu.
  2. Navigate to the General section under Preferences.
    The Preferences Option is highlighted at the upper left, the Preferences options are listed down the middle of the screen.

  3. In the General section, navigate to the DVR for scheduling recordings setting and click the OK button on the remote control.
    The DVR for scheduling recordings is highlighted. It is the next to last item in the vertical list in the center of the screen.
  4. Select the default DVR for which you will schedule recordings.
    A drop-down menu of DVRs is displayed at the bottom right of the screen. The default DVR can be selected from this menu.
