The X1 DVR with Cloud Technology functions just like a regular DVR, but includes new features like the ability to stream recordings to mobile devices and computers and download completed recordings with the XFINITY TV app or XFINITY TV website (xtv.comcast.net).

What is X1 DVR with Cloud Technology?
The X1 DVR with Cloud Technology is a new DVR that allows you to record TV shows and movies in "the cloud," and then stream those recordings to your mobile devices and computers, or download recordings to a mobile device while connected to any Wi-Fi or mobile network. You can also stream live TV and XFINITY On Demand content while connected to your in-home XFINITY network.

Note: Recordings are still saved on the DVR's hard drive.

Where is X1 DVR with Cloud Technology available now?
X1 DVR with Cloud Technology is available only to a limited number of customers in select Comcast areas at this time. We are continually expanding this service, however, if you receive the Coverage is Still Limited error message when attempting to use this feature on the XFINITY TV website or the XFINITY TV app, this means the service is not yet available in your market.

Who is eligible for the new X1 DVR with Cloud Technology?
All X1 customers with DVR service in launched areas are eligible.

Will the new X1 DVR with Cloud Technology be available to existing X1 customers with DVR service?
Yes, in markets where the new service is launched, existing X1 customers with DVR service are able to upgrade to X1 DVR with Cloud Technology, but you need to request the new functionality. If you don't currently subscribe to AnyRoom DVR service, additional charges will apply.

How can I access content using X1 DVR with Cloud Technology?
You can access DVR recordings on mobile devices with the XFINITY TV app, or on a computer by going to the XFINITY TV site.

What devices are supported?
The XFINITY TV website is currently available for viewing on PC and Macs. The XFINITY TV app is currently available for iOS devices running 7.0 or later and Android devices running 4.0 or higher.

Why aren't all customers able to log in to the XFINITY TV app?
The X1 DVR with Cloud Technology may not be available in all areas; you will be notified when X1 DVR with Cloud Technology becomes available.

Existing customers with X1 DVR service upgrading to the new X1 DVR with Cloud Technology:

Will I lose the recordings currently saved on my X1 DVR?
Existing recordings will remain available on your TV set, but will not be available for playback or download on mobile devices or computers.

Will I lose scheduled recordings?
The system automatically begins recording scheduled shows to the existing X1 DVR.

Does the functionality enabled by X1 DVR with Cloud Technology count against the XFINITY Internet data usage threshold?
Downloading and/or streaming DVR recordings, live TV or XFINITY On Demand content will not count against your Internet data usage threshold if you are connected to your in-home XFINITY network. However, if you choose to stream or download DVR recordings outside of the home, this may count against your data usage threshold.

Existing customers with X1 DVR with Cloud Technology:

Can I take my cloud recordings with me if I move or transfer service?
Unfortunately, you cannot currently transfer recordings to a new service address.

In the event of a DVR box swap, will I still have access to my recordings?
Yes, but only from mobile devices or computers. Because recordings are still saved on the hard drive, you will not be able to watch your old recordings on the TV.
