Support XFINITY TV Check Traffic using the XFINITY TV on the X1 Platform Traffic App

Introduction

The traffic app offers real-time traffic reports and roadway and weather conditions to help plan your trip.

Traffic App Options

  • Set default location
  • Traffic alerts
  • Roadway conditions
  • Large area events (location will automatically appear)
  • Add location by city name or ZIP code
  • Area maps

Checking local traffic:

To see the local traffic information:

  1. Go to the Main menu.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Press OK.
  4. You will see a list of available applications.
  5. Select Traffic.
  6. Press OK.
  7. You will see a traffic map and the latest alerts for your area.
  8. Select any of the displayed options to see additional detail.
  9. Press OK
    A map and a traffic alert are displayed

Checking traffic alerts:

To see traffic alert information:

  1. Go to the Main menu.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Press OK.
  4. You will see a list of available applications.
  5. Select Traffic.
  6. Press OK.
  7. You will see a traffic map and the latest alerts for your chosen area.
  8. Highlight any of the displayed alert options to see additional detail.
  9. Press OK.
    A map and a traffic alert are displayed 

Note:
  • Selecting the left or right arrow keys while on a map will cycle through detailed descriptions for each alert.
  • Traffic cams are not always available on all alerts and thus may not appear.

Adding locations:

You can check traffic conditions in up to five locations.

The Add New Location screen shows a field for entering the location's ZIP code

To add a location, use the following steps:

  1. Go to the Main menu.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Select Traffic.
  4. Press OK.
  5. Scroll down to Add a Location.
  6. Press OK.
  7. Use the numbers on the remote to enter a ZIP code or City Name. Press OK.
  8. The new location is displayed and appears in the list of available locations and routes for traffic information.

Note:
  • You will be prompted if the five-city location limit is reached if you attempt to add another location.
    A prompt explains that a new location cannot be added
     
Roadway Map:
A map of roads shows icons representing different traffic alerts

Note:
  • Commutes are no longer supported in the traffic app.

Extended Traffic Map:
A map covering a wider area than the previous map shows icons representing different traffic alerts

Deleting a Traffic Location:

To delete a location, select the tile furthest to the right for a particular location to remove it from your view.  Please note that the default location (ZIP code) cannot be deleted.
