Introduction

You can use the subscriber portal, your touchscreen, your keypad or your keychain remote to arm and disarm your security system. Get step-by-step instructions here.

Note: This FAQ is for all XFINITY Home customers. However, if you live in the Houston, Texas area and you purchased XFINITY Home prior to 11/16/11, please click here.

Arm on the Subscriber Portal

To arm:

  1. Log in to XFINITY Home user portal with your primary Comcast.net email address.
  2. From the home page, click Press to Arm or scroll over the Security tab and select Arm.
  3. Choose how you want the system armed and enter your keypad code.
    • Arm stay: This option disables all motion sensors - no motion detection will be displayed or noted in the Subscriber Portal or on the Touch Screen. While in 'arm stay' mode, there is a delay in place on entry and exit zones (the user will have time to disarm the system when triggering sensors in entry and exit zones before the alarm sounds and the central monitoring station is alerted).
    • Arm away: Regardless if door is tripped or not): Motion is detected and noted in both the Subscriber Portal and on the Touch Screen.
    • Arm night: The same as arm stay, minus the entry/exit delay. While in 'arm night' mode, any sensor triggered in an entry or exit zone will immediately result in the alarm sounding and the central monitoring station being contacted.
  4. Click Arm Now to complete.

Note
: Click Turn Zone Off to bypass individual zones before arming the system.

Exit delay and entry delay

After you arm the system it goes into exit delay so you have time to leave. When you enter your home and the system is armed, it goes into entry delay to give you time to disarm the system.

During entry delay and exit delay, the System Status Bar in the Subscriber Portal reflects the status of the touch screen.

  • Click the Entry Delay status header to disarm the system.
  • Click the Exit Delay status header to cancel the arming sequence.
