Support XFINITY Home Arm and Disarm Your XFINITY Home System

Introduction

You can use the Subscriber Portal, your TouchScreen, your Wireless Keypad or your Keychain Remote to arm and disarm your security system. Get step-by-step instructions in this article.

Note: This FAQ is for all XFINITY Home customers. However, if you live in the Houston, Texas area and you purchased XFINITY Home prior to November 16, 2011, please see XFINITY Home for customers in the Houston, Texas area installed before November 16, 2011.

If you do not have a TouchScreen, see the Help & Support documentation for XFINITY Home - Control.

Arm on the Subscriber Portal

To Arm

  1. Log in to XFINITY Home user portal with your primary comcast.net email address.
  2. From the home page, click Press to Arm or scroll over the Security tab and select Arm.
The Main tab of the XFINITY Home user portal displaying a "Disarmed - Press to Arm" status.

  3. Choose how you want the system armed and enter your keypad code.
    • Arm Stay: This option disables all motion sensors - no motion detection will be displayed or noted in the Subscriber Portal or on the TouchScreen. While in Arm Stay mode, there is a delay in place on entry and exit zones. (The user will have time to disarm the system when triggering sensors in entry and exit zones before the alarm sounds and the central monitoring station is alerted.)
    • Arm Away: (Regardless of whether door is tripped or not.) Motion is detected and noted in both the Subscriber Portal and on the TouchScreen.
    • Arm Night: The same as Arm Stay, minus the entry/exit delay. While in Arm Night mode, any sensor triggered in an entry or exit zone will immediately sound the alarm and contact the central monitoring station.
The Arm Your System screen showing a status of Arm Away. Under Choose How to Arm, the options are Arm Stay, Arm Away and Arm Night. There is a field to enter a Keypad Code and a list of Zones.

  4. Click Arm Now to complete.
Note: Click Turn Zone Off to bypass individual zones before arming the system.

Exit Delay and Entry Delay

After you arm the system it goes into Exit Delay mode so you have time to leave. When you enter your home and the system is armed, it goes into Entry Delay mode to give you time to disarm the system.

During Entry Delay and Exit Delay, the System Status Bar in the Subscriber Portal reflects the status of the TouchScreen.
  • Click the Entry Delay status header to disarm the system.
  • Click the Exit Delay status header to cancel the arming sequence.

Disarm on the Subscriber Portal

  1. Log in to the XFINITY Home user portal with your primary comcast.net email address.
  2. From the homepage, click Press to Disarm or scroll over the Security tab and select Disarm.
  3. Check the Last Armed, Duration, and Armed By information.
  4. Enter your keypad code and click Disarm.
  5. After the system is disarmed, the history log shows the change and the time it took place.

To Disarm Through History

  • When the status bar is clicked, it opens the Disarm Your System dialog box.
  • The current state information will show Last Armed, Duration and Armed By.
  • After the system is disarmed, the history log shows the change and the time it took place.
  • You can also access this information by clicking on the History drop-down menu and selecting Arms/Disarms. The Arm/Disarm history is listed from the newest event to the oldest.

Arm and Disarm with the TouchScreen

Arm Away

  1. The security status of your security system is displayed in the Security Status header. Touch the Security Status header when it is in Disarmed state.
  2. Select the Arm Away mode and enter your security code.
  3. Exit the premises - you have until the Exit Delay is over to do so.
Please Note:
  • If you open and shut an Entry/Exit door during the Exit Delay and then re-enter the premise, the Exit Delay restarts at 120 seconds. It will only do this one time.
  • If an Entry/Exit door is left open at the end of Exit Delay, the Entry Delay immediately starts and, if the system is not disarmed, an alarm will sound.

Arm Stay

  1. The security status of your security system is displayed in the Security Status header. Touch the Security Status header when it is in Disarmed state.
  2. Unless you select the Arm Away mode, the system is automatically put into Arm Stay.

Please Note:
  • If you open and shut an Entry/Exit door during the Exit Delay and then re-enter the premises, the Exit Delay restarts. It will only do this one time.
  • If an Entry/Exit door is left open at the end of Exit Delay, the Entry Delay immediately starts and, if the system is not disarmed, an alarm will sound.
