Note: This FAQ is for all XFINITY Home customers. However, if you live in the Houston, Texas area and you purchased XFINITY Home prior to November 16, 2011, please see XFINITY Home for customers in the Houston, Texas area installed before November 16, 2011.

How to Use the Emergency Button

The Emergency button on your XFINITY Home system is used to send an alarm directly to the Central Monitoring Station. The alarm message indicates an emergency of a specific type, such as Fire, Medical or Police.
The Emergency Button screen displays a message: "Hold one panic button below for two seconds to trigger the alarm." Below it are three panic buttons: Fire, Medical and Police (left to right).

Note: You will need to press and hold the appropriate panic button for 2 seconds to trigger an alarm.
