Introduction

The Comcast Vault is your own secure website that allows you to back up and access files anywhere using the Internet.

With the Comcast Vault you can

  • Share your backed up content.
  • Access your Comcast Vault from any Internet-enabled computer.

Accessing the Comcast Vault

Once you’ve registered and created your vault, you can access it through the link that was sent to the comcast.net email address you used to register for the service.

You will need to use your Comcast Vault user name and password that you created during the installation, not your Comcast ID and password.

IMPORTANT: You need to download and complete your first backup with the Secure Backup & Share desktop application before you can access the Comcast Vault online. You won’t be able to see your files until this has been done. Once the initial backup is complete, you will receive an email letting you know your Comcast Vault is ready.

Multiple computers

You can also use Secure Backup & Share to back up files on multiple computers. You’ll need to install the Secure Backup & Share desktop application on the additional computers and assign them each a unique label.

Only one version of the Secure Backup & Share application can be downloaded to a computer at a time. You must be signed in as a Windows Administrator, and you’ll have to uninstall the older version of the application if you want to download another instance of the application.

You can also access your Comcast Vault from these mobile devices

Data usage

The data used to back up and restore files with Secure Backup & Share will contribute to your overall monthly 250 GB data usage threshold.

The median data usage by XFINITY Internet customers is approximately 4-6 GB each month (these numbers vary on a monthly basis). So, the typical customer, using an average amount of monthly online activity combined with the use of backup and restore, will probably not go over the 200 GB data allowance option.
