Follow these steps to protect your security.
How to do it
For your security, we recommend changing both the default login and password on your router to something only you will know. Be sure to write the information down and store it where you can access as needed. (You may want to consider taping it to the back of your router so you can retrieve it easily.)
To change your router login and password:
- Log into your router (view Basic Information about Comcast Supported Routers for steps on logging in).
- You will be prompted for your current password. If you do not know your current password, you can reset the router to the factory defaults.
- You will then be able to enter a new password. You’ll be asked to confirm the new password a second time.
- Once the new password has been created, you’ll be prompted to log in again using the new password.
