Introduction
Our routers offer the convenience of wireless Internet access at home. We also support standalone routers and gateway devices made by other manufacturers.
Router Information
WiFi networks are about convenience and providing wireless Internet access around your home.
Routers typically support one of two wireless protocols: Wireless-G (802.11g) and Wireless-N (802.11n). The Wireless-N standard is newer, and offers improved coverage by minimizing interference, optimizing data channels and increasing the sensitivity of WiFi devices.
If you have Comcast’s Ultra or Extreme 50 levels of service, we recommend you upgrade to the 802.11n wireless router.
Speed and coverage of a Wireless-N device is further determined by the number of antennas, typically referred to as 1x1 or 2x2 configuration. A router with a single antenna (1x1) is compatible with Comcast’s Economy, Performance, Performance Plus, and Blast! speed tiers.
Below, find basic information for your model, such as:
- Which protocol your router supports.
- How to access your equipment to upgrade firmware or update security information.
- How to reset your router if you lose or forget your security setting, or to resolve certain technical issues.
- Where to find the default login and password for initial installation or for resetting your device to its original factory settings.
You access your equipment through a desktop icon, and through the URLs provided.
