Support XFINITY Internet Will I be alerted when I near or exceed my data usage plan?

Introduction

This information applies only to XFINITY Internet customers in Huntsville and Mobile, Alabama; Tucson, Arizona; Atlanta, Augusta and Savannah, Georgia; Central Kentucky; Maine; Jackson, Mississippi; Knoxville, Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee; and Charleston, South Carolina who are not enrolled in the Flexible-Data Option.

Yes. Emails will be sent to your primary Comcast user email address and you will see in-browser notifications when you reach 90% and 100% of your monthly data usage plan amount.  In many of these markets, you also can elect to receive notifications at 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 110% and 125% of your usage.

You will receive an automated phone call from Comcast the second month you reach 100% of your usage.

You can also elect to receive mobile text notifications when you near or exceed your usage plan:

  1. In My Account under the Users & Preferences tab, put a check in the Text box next to Data Usage Threshold:
    The text message box will be selected in the Data Usage Threshold row.
     
  2. You will receive an email once you have enrolled to receive text messages that states:
    Dear Comcast Customer,

    The My Account Alert preferences for [name] have been changed.

    [name] is currently enrolled in the following emails and SMS Comcast Alerts:

    Email Alerts: Data Usage Threshold
    SMS Alerts: Data Usage Threshold

    If this change was not authorized by you or an authorized user on your account, or you believe you received this message in error, please call Comcast Customer Service at 1-800-266-2278.

Note: Customized notification thresholds and SMS text alerts are not currently available in Nashville, Tennessee or Tucson, Arizona.
