You can fix certain modem issues by resetting or power cycling your cable modem or your XFINITY Digital Internet & Voice modem.
Reset your cable modem by pressing and holding down the reset button, located on the front or back of your modem, for five seconds. If there’s no reset button, then power cycle your modem.
To power cycle your modem:
Note: It’s important that you never remove the battery from your modem for troubleshooting purposes. Removing the battery leaves you without a dial tone in the event of a power outage.
