Introduction
Before downloading this program, you may need to uninstall other security software.
Uninstall other security software
Some security software (e.g. anti-virus and firewalls) will not work correctly with similar programs you’ve installed. Uninstalling previous security software, including any existing Norton programs, should prevent conflicts from occurring during or after installation of Norton Security Suite.
To uninstall existing software:
If you have Windows XP
- Click Start.
- Click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
- Locate and click the program you want to remove.
- Click Remove.
- Follow the screens to uninstall the software and restart your computer if necessary.
After restarting, check
Add or Remove Programs again to make sure no other applications need to be removed.
If you have Windows Vista and Windows 7
- Click the Windows button.
- Click Control Panel.
- Double-click Programs and Features.
- Locate and click the program you want to remove.
- Click Uninstall.
- Follow the screens to uninstall the software and restart your computer if necessary.
- After restarting, check the Programs and Features list again to make sure no other software needs to be removed.
