Introduction
Sometimes we need to temporarily take over your computer to help troubleshoot an issue. Here’s how to enable your Remote Assist feature.
What is Remote Assist?
“Remote Assist” is when a Comcast Support Representative takes control over your computer remotely — with your express permission — to troubleshoot an issue. You can restrict our representatives to "view only" access, which means they can see the contents of your screen, but cannot take control of your computer.
Follow the steps below to start a remote assistance session.
Step 1
Visit Comcast Support.
Step 2
Click Download Assisted Support to install Comcast Assisted Support control. Now you can use the Remote Control feature.
Step 3
A file download dialog box will appear. Click Run.
Step 4
Another dialog box will appear asking if you want to run this software. Click Run.
Step 5
A new dialog box will appear letting you know that Windows is configuring the Comcast Assisted Support Controls.
Step 6
Enter your email address in the space provided, and check the box labeled Enable passkey. Click Submit.
Step 7
You will receive a message that you need to install ActiveX controls. Click OK.
Step 8
Click the yellow bar at the top of the page and select Run ActiveX Control.
Step 9
A security warning will pop up and ask if you want to run this ActiveX control. Click Run.

Select the Grant Full Control button.
Step 11
Once you select the Grant Full Control button, the status will change from Disabled to Enabled.
