What is the Center for Copyright Information (CCI)?
The Center for Copyright Information (CCI) is a non-profit organization of five of the largest Internet Service Providers in the United States (including Comcast) and the world’s major producers and distributers of movies, TV shows and music and many indies in those industries as well. CCI has developed a cooperative program, the Copyright Alert System (CAS), to educate Internet users about copyright law online, provide access to legal content in a variety of formats and thus help reduce infringement, while respecting the legitimate interests of Internet users and subscribers to protect their privacy and freedom of speech and to access legitimate content. CCI also benefits from an Advisory Board of leading consumer advocates, privacy and education specialists and technical experts.
