Introduction
Follow these guidelines to get the most out of your XFINITY™ TV Remote app.
Get Started:
The XFINITY TV Remote app is currently available for these devices:
- Apple: iPhones (3rd generation and above), iPod touch (2nd generation and above), iPad
- Android
Systems requirements to watch xfinity.com/tv.
- Apple: OS 2.1 or greater.
- Android: OS 2.x and greater.
If the cable box you are trying to use doesn't appear in the list on your device:
- Make sure the cable box is compatible with the device.
- Make sure the cable box is turned on, and you have an active Internet connection. You'll need to be signed in to your Comcast® account to synch up your cable box with the device
- Note: If your cable box isn't on the list of compatible devices, it won't appear as an option in your XFINITY TV Remote app set-up. However, you can still use the app to search for regular television programming and XFINITY® On Demand content. Future versions of the application will include the option to use the select and schedule options with even more cable boxes.
- Make sure you have signed into the application with your Comcast.net email address or Comcast User ID and password to sync up your cable box with the device.
Find Content:
TV Listings
- Apple devices:
- Select TV Listings.
- Scroll to a specific channel or use the filters to narrow your choices.
- Type a program title in the search box at the top of the app.
- Speed scrolling allows you to quickly navigate TV listings.
- Use the Jump to tool to go to a specific time, day or channel.
- Adjust tuning capabilities with the channel keypad.
- Select ONDEMAND to browse featured XFINITY On Demand Movies, TV, or Top Picks collections.
- Android smartphones/tablets:
- Press the Menu button and then select TV Listings.
- Scroll to a specific channel or use the filters to narrow your choices.
- Select ONDEMAND to browse featured XFINITY On Demand Movies, TV, or Top Picks collections.
- Android devices currently do not support:
- Play Now
- Favorites for TV Listings channels
- Previous Channel
- Jump to Date / Time
- Keypad for Channel entry and tune
- Canceling a DVR recording from the TV Listings Grid
Change channels:
- Choose the cable box you want to watch from on your mobile device.
- Search the TV Listings to select the channel or program you want to watch (select Watch on TV or Watch Channel).
- Select Watch ON to view an XFINITY On Demand program.
- Please note: You will need to use your Comcast remote to confirm the purchase of an XFINITY On Demand move.
- If the program is protected by your parental control settings, you will need to use your Comcast remote to enter the 4-digit PIN you have established.
- If you're currently recording a program or watching XFINITY On Demand on your cable box, you'll need to exit to live programming before you can change the channel with your device.
Schedule a recording:
If you have a Comcast DVR, you can schedule a recording using the XFINITY TV Remote app.
If you have trouble with activating DVR Manager, follow these quick steps:
- From the TV Listings, select the program you want to record. Just select the Record button, and you will be prompted to record the program or record the series.
- You cannot record XFINITY On Demand programs.
