Support Billing Understanding Your Bill

Introduction

You can view your bill from anywhere, on any device, anytime you want. Just sign in to My Account to view your monthly statement or current balance. This article provides an overview of the information that will appear on your bill each month, so you'll know exactly what you're paying for and what to expect. We'll also explain things that may differ from your regular monthly rate, like adding new services or one-time charges for things like XFINITY On Demand movies.

    This section contains important messages about your account.
  2. "One-Stop Shop" Box
    This shows you a snapshot of your key billing information.
  3. Monthly Statement Summary
    This section lists the total amount due on the account, and provides a breakdown of the previous balance, last payment, new charges, and payment due date.
  4. New Charges Summary
    This section provides a summary of all new charges for your current billing period, including applicable recurring charges, prorates, credits, taxes, surcharges, and fees.
  5. Savings Message
    If you are taking advantage of a promotion or receive any discounts, this section may show your savings in comparison to Comcast's full service rates. This section may not appear in all areas.
  6. Payment Slip
    Return this slip with your payment if you are paying by check or money order.
  7. Service Details
    Get detailed information about new charges listed by product for your current billing period.
  8. Partial Month Charges & Credits
    If you add or remove a service during your billing period, partial month charges or credits for those services are listed here. This section does not appear on every bill.
  9. Other Charges & Credits
    This section includes fees not covered in other areas of your bill, like installation fees and any credits to your account. This section does not appear on every bill.
  10. Taxes, Surcharges & Fees
    This section lists a breakdown of taxes, franchise fees, and other fees that apply to your Comcast services.

2. "One-Stop Shop" Box
One Stop Shop box shows key features of bill and account.

Key features:
  • Your account number.
  • Billing date is the date your bill was generated - not the due date.
  • Unpaid balance is the past due balance (if any) on your account.
  • Total amount due is the total amount due on your account, including any past due balance and new charges.
  • Payment due by is the payment due date for the current billing period.
    • Note: Any unpaid or past due balance is due immediately.

If you are enrolled in Autopay, this section will state "Autopay" and reflect the date your payment will be deducted from your credit card or bank account.

3. Monthly Statement Summary

Key features:
  • Previous balance is the balance from your last statement.
  • Payment is the amount of the last payment we received, and the date it was posted to your account.
  • Unpaid balance is the past due balance (if any) on your account as of the billing date.
  • New charges is the total balance for your current billing cycle only. This does not include any past due balance.
    • Note: If your statement reads "See below," please look for the New Charges Summary for additional details.
  • Total amount due is the total amount due on your account, including any past due balance and new charges.
  • Payment due by is the due date for the current billing period.
    • Note: Any unpaid or past due balance is due immediately.

4. New Charges Summary

The information displayed will vary depending on the products and services on your account. The following is a sampling of items that may appear in this section:
  • XFINITY Bundled Services is the monthly charge for your XFINITY bundle, like the Double or Triple Play.
  • Additional Services lists the monthly charge for items that are not included in your bundle, such as equipment fees and XFINITY On Demand charges.
  • Partial Month Charges and Credits appears if any changes were made to your account during the previous billing cycle.
  • Other Charges and Credits includes other charges applied such as credits, installation fees, trouble call fees and late fees.
  • Taxes, Surcharges and Fees includes local and state taxes, franchise fees, FCC fees and other fees associated with your services and your local area.

5. Savings Message

6. Payment Slip

Return this slip with your payment if paying by check or money order. Please do not mail cash. Cash payments may be made at your local Comcast Service Center.

Note: Don't forget to write your account number on your check or money order.

7. Service Details
Image displays the Service Details section of the bill.
This information is specific to the products and services on your account. The billing period dates are listed next to each product description. The following is a sampling of items that may appear in this section:
  • XFINITY Bundled Services lists the monthly charge for your XFINITY bundle, like the Double or Triple Play.
  • XFINITY Internet lists Internet service charges when XFINITY Internet is not included in a bundle. This includes the regular monthly charge and equipment rental fees.
  • XFINITY Voice lists XFINITY Voice service charges when XFINITY Voice is not included in a bundle. This includes the regularly monthly charge, modem charges, collect calls, Directory Assistance, international charges and a regulatory recovery fee.
  • Additional Services includes any additional services that are not included in your bundle price. You may see:
    • XFINITY TV services such as equipment charges, XFINITY On Demand purchases, DVR service, premium channels, etc.
    • XFINITY Internet services such as modem or wireless gateway rental, speed tiers, etc.
    • XFINITY Voice services such as XFINITY Voice modem rental, collect calls, Directory Assistance, international charges, etc.

8. Partial Month Charges & Credits

Since Comcast bills for recurring charges in advance, the partial month charges on the statement reflects charges for changes made by you or by Comcast during the previous billing period.

Key features:
  • Service that was added or removed.
  • Date of addition or removal.
  • Number of days that the addition or removal affected the previous billing period.
  • Cost per day after adding or removing the service.
  • Total charge or credit for the added or removed service for the previous billing period.

9. Other Charges & Credits

This section will only appear if there are relevant charges to display.

Key features:
  • Credits applied to your account.
  • Installation and Service fees for in-home visits.
  • Other fees including Comcast Customer Guarantee credits, returned check fees, late fees, reactivation fees and convenience (agent-assisted) fees.

10. Taxes, Surcharges & Fees

Includes local and state taxes, franchise fees, FCC fees and other fees associated with your services and your local area.
